About Purple Sector

Who makes Purple Sector

Purple Sector (purplesector.dev) is a lap analysis web app for karters, track-day drivers and motorcycle riders, made in Queensland, Australia, around Australian and New Zealand circuits. It is made by Nate, the founder. Drivers open the file from the logger they already use, compare laps on a map of the circuit, see where the time went and can ask an optional AI coach what to try next session.

The name comes from motorsport timing, where a purple sector is the fastest anyone has gone through that part of the track. This site is the lap analysis app; it is not a racing team or a news site, and it is not affiliated with other businesses or publications that use a similar name.

A shared workspace for motorsport analysis

Purple Sector at purplesector.dev is browser based telemetry analysis for real-world karting, track days and motorsport. Drivers, riders, engineers and coaches can bring supported logger recordings, compare laps, inspect measurements and retain a supported explanation. AI coaching is an optional workflow alongside lap comparison, GPS maps, traces, session context and saved views.

Right, or silent

A track identity, turn number and measured channel must have evidence behind them. Missing data is labelled. Estimates remain estimates. The public track maps describe the layouts the product recognises in Australia and New Zealand and identify the provenance of their maps and numbers.
