Turn 1

Turn 1 is a left-hander, turning through about 199° with a radius of about 45 m. Turn 1 comes 1,130 m after T14, and T2 follows 245 m later. It comes at the end of the 1.1 km main straight, and Supercars calls it one of the heaviest stops of its season. (Supercars)

  • Rick Kelly: Brake in a straight line first, then start turning in; that takes weight off the left-front, so it locks easily and is hard to recover. (Supercars)
  • Paul Radisich: Halfway round, the corner turns off-camber and tightens on itself, so hold a tight line. It is very easy to run wide here. (Crash.net)

Turn 5

Turn 5 is a roughly right-angle right-hander, turning through about 103° with a radius of about 35 m. Turn 5 comes 185 m after T4, and T6 follows 290 m later.

  • Paul Radisich: A bump on the inside at the exit can unsettle the car just as you want early power. Arriving too fast or too wide costs drive out of the corner. (Crash.net)

Turn 6

Turn 6 is a left-hand hairpin, turning through about 168° with a radius of about 25 m. Turn 6 comes 290 m after T5, and T7 follows 205 m later.

  • Craig Lowndes: Several lines work here and there is a lot of time to gain. Rotate the car quickly, get the power down, and use the inside kerb. (Supercars)
  • Paul Radisich: Keep a tight line through the hairpin and concentrate on putting the power down for the run to Turn 7. (Crash.net)

Turn 7

Turn 7 is an open right-hander, turning through about 67° with a radius of about 60 m. Turn 7 comes 205 m after T6, and T8 follows 125 m later.

  • Paul Radisich: Off-camber and slightly tightening on itself, but still a quick corner. (Crash.net)

Turn 10

Turn 10 is an open left-hander, turning through about 41°. Turn 10 comes 115 m after T9, and T11 follows 80 m later.

  • Paul Radisich: Off-camber here and the car tends to oversteer, so keep it as straight as you can for the run down to Turns 12 and 13. (Crash.net)

Turn 13

Turn 13 is an open left-hander, turning through about 44°. Turn 13 comes 75 m after T12, and T14 follows 70 m later. Turn 13 is the first apex of a double-apex left-hander that turns through about 124° in all, and T14 is the second.

Turn 14

Turn 14 is a roughly right-angle left-hander, turning through about 79°. Turn 14 comes 70 m after T13, and T1 follows 1,130 m later. Turn 14 is the second apex of that double-apex left-hander, after T13.

  • Paul Radisich: The most important corner on the lap: a slow exit costs you all the way down the long main straight. (Crash.net)
  • Rick Kelly: Balance entry against exit. Being too careful on the way in to set up the run onto the straight can cost as much time as it gains. (Supercars)
