Turn 1
Turn 1 is an open left-hander, turning through about 68° with a radius of about 40 m. Turn 1 comes 575 m after T12, and T2 follows 75 m later.
- David Reynolds: The braking zone has a cambered hump falling away to the right that unsettles the car; give up some speed through this left to get a good run through 2. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Jason Bright: Be precise on entry so you can keep the car tight on exit, using only a little of the kerb. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 2
Turn 2 is an open right-hander, turning through about 71° with a radius of about 40 m. Turn 2 comes 75 m after T1, and T3 follows 335 m later.
- David Reynolds: Get on the throttle early to build speed up the hill. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Jason Bright: Feed the throttle in for a strong run onto the old start-finish straight; in a race everyone uses all the road on exit. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 3
Turn 3 is a roughly right-angle right-hander, turning through about 104° with a radius of about 35 m. Turn 3 comes 335 m after T2, and T4 follows 145 m later.
- David Reynolds: Heavily cambered with a big kerb on the inside; brake late and carry good mid-corner speed. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Jason Bright: The track drops away on the inside, so it is easy to lock the inside front under brakes. Use all the exit road without dropping wheels off. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 4
Turn 4 is a roughly right-angle right-hander, turning through about 78° with a radius of about 35 m. Turn 4 comes 145 m after T3, and T5 follows 355 m later.
- Jason Bright: A one-line corner because it is banked on entry. It is easy to drop a wheel off going in, and stay off the kerb because it unsettles the car. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Warren Luff: Setting up Turn 5 starts here: use the outside exit kerb like a berm, but don’t run over it or the car arrives at 5 unsettled. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
Turn 5
Turn 5 is a left-hander, turning through about 140°. Turn 5 comes 355 m after T4, and T6 follows 155 m later. Drivers writing on the operator’s website call it the sweeper, and David Reynolds calls it the fastest corner on the track. (Winton Motor Raceway)
- Warren Luff: Brake later than feels right and trail the brakes to the first apex, then let the car run wide naturally before heading for the second apex. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
- Warren Luff: Leave the second apex as late as possible and only kiss it; that sets up the change of direction into 6 and the approach to 7. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
Turn 6
Turn 6 is an open right-hander, turning through about 48° with a radius of about 40 m. Turn 6 comes 155 m after T5, and T7 follows 140 m later.
- David Reynolds: Flick the car right after the sweeper; this kink has big kerbs on both sides. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Warren Luff: Get the car as straight as you can on the exit of 6 so you can brake in a straight line for 7. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
Turn 7
Turn 7 is a tight right-hander, turning through about 148° with a radius of about 20 m. Turn 7 comes 140 m after T6, and T8 follows 160 m later.
- Warren Luff: Trail the brake all the way to the apex, then accelerate hard while staying in the centre of the road. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
- Jason Bright: One of the hardest braking zones: the car is unsettled after the kink and you are turning and braking right to the apex. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 8
Turn 8 is a left-hand hairpin, turning through about 156° with a radius of about 35 m. Turn 8 comes 160 m after T7, and T9 follows 130 m later.
- Warren Luff: There isn’t room to get fully right after 7, so approach from mid-track and trail the brakes to a mid-corner apex; watch for the rear going light. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
- Jason Bright: Well banked; hug the inside all the way round to set yourself up for 9. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 9
Turn 9 is a right-hand hairpin, turning through about 189° with a radius of about 20 m. Turn 9 comes 130 m after T8, and T10 follows 365 m later.
- Warren Luff: Start from mid-track and aim for a mid-to-late apex, watching the patched surface for grip changes; the left exit kerb is a good launch pad if not overdone. (MOTOR / WhichCar)
- David Reynolds: Putting the power down is hard here; wheelspin or understeer on exit costs your run to Turn 10. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 10
Turn 10 is a roughly right-angle left-hander, turning through about 108° with a radius of about 25 m. Turn 10 comes 365 m after T9, and T11 follows 440 m later.
- David Reynolds: Looks simple but turns well past 90 degrees, so it is tricky to attack; the exit matters because it feeds the second-longest straight. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Jason Bright: Brake in a straight line, then straighten the car as quickly as you can for good drive out. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 11
Turn 11 is a roughly right-angle right-hander, turning through about 98° with a radius of about 25 m. Turn 11 comes 440 m after T10, and T12 follows 120 m later.
- David Reynolds: One of the bumpiest braking zones on the track; keep the car settled over the bumps. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
- Jason Bright: The heaviest stop of the lap, but the exit opens up a lot, so you can carry good speed towards 12. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
Turn 12
Turn 12 is a roughly right-angle right-hander, turning through about 91° with a radius of about 20 m. Turn 12 comes 120 m after T11, and T1 follows 575 m later.
- Jason Bright: Re-profiled at the 2016 resurfacing and now faster; strong drive out matters for the run back to the line. (Winton Motor Raceway (operator))
